Characteristics of an Interim Financial-Accounting Candidate

As an interim executive, I focus on the strategic implications and the detailed completion and execution of financial management.  With over 30 years of healthcare financial experience I can immediately step into the role of interim VP of Finance, CFO, Controller, or financial analyst.  As your interim, I provide a comfort that the financial objectives are being accomplished while the permanent search continues.  The financial and accounting functions continue just as you would expect of your permanent employee; not just a place holder. My goal is to help your facility become more profitable and increase its cash flow by providing the support you need from a strong financial candidate. You do not have to rush into making a quick decision on your permanent candidate; I relieve that pressure.

The characteristics that separates me from other interim candidates is strength in the core competencies of  information systems, regulatory and managed care reimbursement, system integrations, financial reporting, business analytics and revenue cycle management.

A Hands-on leader whose task completion focuses on quality, accuracy, timeliness, business efficiency and technical competency.  Bringing to the table a strong network of key relationships within the healthcare industry; servicing both the For-Profit and Non-Profit sectors.

Typically, the interim engagements are for 3 months or longer and can be engaged on either a 1099 or W-2 basis.  As a strong interim Financial Executive, I often find myself performing operating duties as well as the financial operations of the facility.  Many of my three (3) month engagements have been extended to over six months due to my ability to satisfy both administration and the Board that the job is getting done.

Interim Characteristics Provided:
Taking a strong balance sheet approach together with visionary leadership I have fueled expansion and efficiency for top organizations; successfully merging as many as seventeen companies into a cohesive reporting unit in four months.  Being an effective problem solver, I leverage a process-oriented approach to develop strategic initiatives and resolve business performance issues in the revenue cycle; causing a 15% decrease in days revenue in accounts receivable and 25% increase in cash flow.

With a strong background in contracts and strategic planning, I have effected growth in business expansion by reviewing competitive services and strategies, successful physician contract negotiations, and managing new business construction.  My knowledge of M&A due diligence, tax, and regulatory reimbursement issues has resulted in the avoidance of the purchase of several seemingly profitable opportunities that ultimately proved to be financial failures.  I look forward to assisting your facility as you seek a permanent candidate to fill your needs.
